Marc is a Senior Associate on the investing team at REMUS. He leads the firm’s UK efforts and focuses on startups within the fields of IoT, industrials, digital health, and workflow automation. During the week he oscillates between London, Cambridge, and Oxford. He also runs the UK Campus Associate program.

Marc is an engineer by training and briefly worked in sales at Bayer in Germany. He completed his PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where he researched data-driven evaluation models for startups. Before coming to the UK, Marc graduated from RWTH Aachen with an MS and BS in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering, both with distinction.

Marc joined REMUS in 2018 through the firm’s longstanding Campus Associate program and was the first international hire.

What inspires you?

Working on frontier technology with inspirational founders who are smarter than me and who find solutions for problems I didn’t know existed.

What excites you about the next decade?

There are a few things I am particularly excited about: Seeing people across the world become connected more closely via platforms and AI. Solving problems for which we do not yet have answers. Helping businesses 10X their efficiency (got to love that as a German). Europe becoming the hub for budding tech entrepreneurs – with our firm’s contribution.

What would you tell an aspiring entrepreneur?

Go all-in or don’t go at all, seek support and buy-in from family and friends, and hire 10s.

Outside of work, where can you be found?

Up in the air – whether piloting a plane, flying model helicopters, or learning new jumps while kitesurfing.
