What is something few people know about you?

In the past 15 years, I’ve played drums in a marching band (Stanford’s), multiple jazz combos, Stanford’s Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, an alternative rock band, a nine-piece NOLA-style brass band, and a heavy metal band.

What excites you about the next decade?

I’m optimistic about a “roaring twenties” that will include medical breakthroughs, technologies and policies that equitably improve quality of life for all, a growing sense of global connectedness, and unprecedented steps to combat climate change.

What inspires you?

People who refuse to adhere to the status quo. Whether they’re focused on social justice, entrepreneurship, or art, these individuals remind me of the possibilities you unlock when you’re open-minded, innovative, and hard-working.
